The Industry 4.0 commission, an initiative of the Catalan Industrial Engineers society (EIC) which now includes the Telecommunications Engineers, Systems Engineers, Civil Engineers and Agricultural Engineers and growing, celebrated the third edition of the Industry 4.0 Forum in the emblematic “Espai Endesa” building in Barcelona on Friday 1st of June with a full capacity audience. The format included 4 initial sessions which provided a synopsis of this years Hannover Messe, organised into four of the working groups of the Commission; Embedded and IoT, Robotics, Additive Printing, and Software, followed by an excellent introduction to Agriculture 4.0 presented by Fran Garcia.
The winner of this years Industry 4.0 prize was Effitronix, which presented its IoT Hub MICO24 Nano. According to Effitronix, the Mico24 Nano is an ideal entry point to Industry 4.0 which facilitates the rollout of industrial monitorization in the cloud in a minimum amount of time. Customers are achieving immediate results in reducing downtime, optimising production, and reducing manufacturing costs. The other finalists for the prize, Data-Driven Steel 4.0 by CELSA Barcelona Group , and InPicker (Vision bin picking) presented excellent projects which should help to inspire others to innovate around Industry 4.0
